"Smiling faces and helpful bodies are everywhere" at this "classy" hotel "within walking distance of the Gaslamp Quarter, Horton Plaza and the Embarcadero"; aesthetes appreciate the "spectacular" atrium lobby, while "modern" rooms (the best with an "excellent view" of the city and ocean) have beds "to die for" and "super double shower heads"; business travelers and families unwind at the "great work-out room and pool area", and though valet parking strikes some as "excessive", you can leave the car "on the street for free" on weekends.

A
four star!
The $32.00 parking fee! We didn't get there till 9 pm and left 9:00 a.m. that is too much money!

Again, I liked the hotel very much.

Pool was just a lap pool and could have been warmer. Could be indoors. Minor problem. Major problem was $24 parking in/out!

I was there on a Sunday and a holiday so I could park on the street for free. You don't want to walk around this place at night. It's only feet from a major homeless encampment! Our view out the window which was filthy, by the way, was of a construction site for the new federal jail. How many of my tax dollars went to secure all that land in a prime spot like downtown San Diego I'll never know. No refrigerator in room is annoying if you have kids. ...read more

The beds, linens, and towels to die for; loved the showerhead!
The cost of parking your car.

The location was great less than a block to public transportation. We parked our car and took the trolley all over SD. Our room was comfortable and the linens were of high quality. The view out of our window as beautiful during the day as well as the night. The staff was overly friendly and helpful! ...read more

Excellent location - within walking distance of many tourist sites.
The valet parking was $32.00. That's too high of a price.

Great hotel, but the valet parking was too expensive.

The room was large and clean and the location was perfect.
The electrical outlet did not work and after putting in a service request, it took the hotel staff a day and a half to fix the problem.

This hotel was great. The room was large and clean with all the modern facilities. It's in a great central location and would stay there again.
